7 Reasons Why You Should Take a Flight Back this Raya (Infographic)

How are you coming back home for Raya? We’d recommend you to fly! Here are 7 reasons why you should consider taking a flight back home for this year’s celebration.

1. You will get to spend more time with your family

For many, family time is precious, especially for those living abroad, and when yearly festive seasons like this finally arrives, all you want to do is spend longer, quality time with your loved ones. It would be disappointing if you’re “forced” to leave so soon, just because you’ve got limited time. A flight back home means that you’ll have more time with them because the hours of travelling are much shorter.

2. A flight back home is a lot more comfortable

We’re not trying to scare you off with the fact that travelling by land is a lot riskier than travelling by air. But statistics don’t lie. It was reported that there were 489,606 road accidents and 6,706 deaths on the road in 2015. In 2014, The Star stated that Malaysia is among the top 25 most dangerous countries for road users in the world, ranking at 17th, based on a finding by the Michigan University.

3. You get assurance for any loss or damage

Have you ever lost anything when travelling? If not, it could happen! For that same reason, airlines offer travel insurance to all passengers to assure them with coverage for any loss of baggage – another reason to consider taking a flight back home!

4. No need to worry about traffic jam or closed roads

It can be nerve-wracking when you are stopped by a massive traffic jam when you’re in a rush to get to your destination, especially on Eid, as others like you are also rushing to get back to their hometown – and to make matters worse, the car in front of you breaks down. You then realise that you should have taken the plane instead (at least you’d know what time you’re expected to arrive!). Should you travel by sea, the wait at the port is going to be even more daunting – especially when you and everybody else are ‘sardined’ at the port for over an hour… or maybe hours!

5. Travelling by car is not necessarily cheaper

So you think it’s cheaper to travel by car? Think again. Travelling by your own personal transport can be expensive too, and even if it’s still cheaper than taking a flight back home, it’s not worth the hassle. Travelling by car means that you’ll have to spend on car maintenance, toll, petrol, meals, and so on. You need to also include your parking fees and unexpected events (such as an engine failure or tire puncture) on your travel expenditure.

6. You are taken care of the minute you board the plane

That feeling when you are greeted with a warm smile, served with delicious meals to fill you up, guided on safety measures, and given assistance should you have any difficulties during your journey – isn’t it nice? Only flight attendants will do that for you, and they are trained to put your life first before theirs! How does that make you feel? Special.
